Insulated Garden Studios

Insulated garden studios are a popular choice if you are seeking to create a comfortable and functional space in your garden. These studios are versatile structures, often used as home offices, art studios, gyms, or additional living spaces. The primary feature that sets them apart is their high-quality insulation, which offers a multitude of benefits.

Warmth & Soundproofing

Insulate your Garden Studio

A garden studio with insulation provides a comfortable and distraction-free work environment. The controlled temperature, natural light, and soundproofing make it an ideal place for productivity and creativity.

The choice of insulation material depends on factors such as climate, budget, and personal preferences. It’s important to consider both the R-value (thermal resistance) and the specific requirements of your garden room to make an informed decision that ensures year-round comfort and energy efficiency. Insulation types we regularly use include:

  • Fiberglass
  • Spray Foam

  • Cellulose
  • Polystyrene or Polyurethane

BESPOKE GARDEN ROOMS

Planning permission

WILL I NEED PLANNING PERMISSION TO BUILD MY GARDEN ROOM?

A bespoke garden room can often be constructed under permitted development without the need to obtain planning permission. Permitted development states the size and positioning of buildings which can be built without the need for full planning permission. For more information please visit the planning portal website: planningportal.co.uk

We will guide you through this process as much as we can, but we would advise you to read through the information
provided on the planning portal.

Large scale garden rooms or offices that are intended for a particular business use may require you to obtain planning permission. It is very important that you use the local government planning portal for your particular area or seek advice. If you intend to use your garden room as somewhere to sleep in, you will need to adhere to building regulations.

Many people are put off building a bespoke garden room if they need to apply for planning permission. There is no need to worry, many garden room suppliers report a 95% success rate with these applications. Full planning permission does incur a fee and this can differ depending on your local authority. Applications for planning permission can take around eight weeks to be processed.

What our clients say...

I commissioned Dandelion to build a music studio in my garden. My wife was fed up with the noise in the house. Our garden studio has sound-proofing, electrics, heating and lighting so I'm happy working in there all times of the year.
